Currency
From Encyclopediak
Currency from Latin, currere, to run, the medium of commercial exchange. Among economic writers there is no hard and fast line between the use of the terms currency and money. In general, however, the term currency applies more specifically to the aspects of money that pertain to its use as a medium of exchange, rather than as a measure and standard of value. The currency of the United States is composed of coins, government notes and bank notes. See Money; Mint.
