Galleon

Galleon, originally the name of a warship with three or four gun decks. but later applied to those large unwieldy vessels long used by Spain in her trade with Mexico and her other American colonies. Many of these ships, although armed, fell a prey to pirates and to the navies of other countries with which Spain was from time to time at war.
