Ibex

Ibex, a name applied to several species of wild goats, all belonging to the Bovine Family and inhabiting Abyssinia, Syria and the Himalayas. The ibex is a swift, agile animal with huge, curving horns connected on the forehead by heavy, bony ridges. The Alpine ibex is called the steinbok or steenbok, and is fast becoming rare except in the lower Piedmont regions.
