Ladoga

Ladoga, the largest lake of Europe. It is situated in the northwestern part of Russia, about 40 m. e. of St. Petersburg. Its circumference is 585 m. and it covers an area of over 7000 sq. m. At intervals it reaches a depth of 800 ft. Its waters are cold and contain an abundance of fish. The lake is of great commercial importance to Russia.
