Oberlin College

Oberlin College , at Oberlin, Ohio 1833. This was the first co-educational college in America. Instruction was begun in 1833, before the charter for the Oberlin Collegiate Institute was secured. Collegiate instruction was begun and a theological seminary of the Congregational Church opened, about 1834. In 1850 the Institute became Oberlin College.
